D-Series Rear Load Dumpster Lids
PRT's D-series rear load dumpster lid is the heavy-duty option for high-volume rear-loader routes — reinforced HDPE, thicker profile, and rear-load-specific hinge geometry built for repeated tipper-lift cycles.

Rear-load containers see a different stress profile than front-load. The lid lifts forward during each pickup as the truck's tipper engages, then drops back onto the rim. Over thousands of cycles, the hinge area and the lid's leading edge bear most of the wear. PRT's D-series rear-load lid reinforces both — extra material along the hinge attachment, and a thicker leading-edge profile.
Standard sizes (2, 3, 4 yard) are in stock. Larger rear-load applications (6 yard) are made to order — typically a 3–5 business day lead time.
How to choose
Use the D-series rear-load when your container is on a high-frequency rear-loader route (daily pickups, restaurant/multifamily) or in any application where lid-edge cracking has been a recurring failure.

Upgrade when your rear-load containers show edge cracking or hinge failure within 6–12 months of installation. D-series typically extends service life 2x in those conditions.
Does the D-series rear load require special hinges?
No, the hinge mounting pattern matches S-series. Existing hinges can be reused; PRT also stocks heavy-duty hinge upgrade kits for D-series installations.
Are D-series rear load lids available in colors?
Yes. Black is standard but stocked in standard recycling and waste colors.
Can I mix D-series and S-series lids in the same fleet?
