PRT's double wall dumpster lid is engineered for the most demanding waste applications — compactor receiver containers, industrial facilities, and any environment where standard lids fail in months. Reinforced HDPE with structural ribs between two skin layers.
Double wall lids are built from two HDPE skins bonded together with structural ribs in between. That construction makes them dramatically stiffer than single-skin lids — they don't flex under load, don't crack at center-fatigue points, and survive impact loads that destroy standard lids.
The most common application is compactor receiver containers: the open-top boxes that a stationary compactor packs into. Those containers see fork-strike, packer-blade impact, and constant high-load cycling. Standard lids fail in 90 days; double wall lids typically last 3–5 years.
Specify the container size, type (compactor receiver vs. standard dumpster), and any non-standard requirements (UL fire rating, color match, custom cut-outs).
Most double wall lids are made to order. Lead time is typically 7–14 business days. PRT customer service can quote based on your container's outer dimensions.
Typically 5–10x in compactor receiver applications. Standard HDPE lids fail in 30–90 days on a compactor; double walls run 3–5 years.
Yes, but it's rarely cost-effective. The double wall premium is justified for high-impact applications (compactor receivers, industrial). For standard front-loads, our D-series is usually the better choice.
Typically 7–14 business days from final spec approval. Standard sizes are stocked; non-standard sizes require fabrication.
Minor surface damage can be welded, but structural damage (rib failure, delamination) usually means replacement. The good news is that structural failures are rare — when double wall lids fail, it's usually after 5+ years of service.
