Three phase hydraulic power units for industrial trash compactors. 208V, 230V, and 480V configurations from 5HP to 20HP, with 15-foot pendant standard. For stationary, self-contained, and heavy-duty industrial compactor applications.
Three phase power units cover the bulk of full-size industrial trash compactor installations — every stationary compactor over 5 yards, every self-contained compactor, every industrial waste-transfer-station setup, and any commercial building installation with proper three phase electrical service. The voltage options (208V, 230V, 480V) cover the standard commercial electrical supplies used across the US.
PRT three phase power units are available in 5HP, 10HP, 15HP, and 20HP. 10HP is the most common — it drives most stationary compactors comfortably. 15-20HP is used for self-contained compactors, heavy-duty industrial cycling, and any application where ram speed matters.
Match the voltage to your building's three phase electrical supply (208V is common in older commercial buildings; 230V and 480V are more common in modern industrial). Match the horsepower to your compactor: 10HP for most stationary units, 15-20HP for self-contained and heavy-duty applications.
If you're not sure of the building's voltage, have an electrician verify before ordering — three phase voltage isn't always obvious from a visual check. PRT customer service can help spec the right unit if you provide the compactor model.
Most modern commercial buildings run 230V or 480V three phase. Older buildings may have 208V. Verify with an electrician — three phase voltage isn't always visually obvious. The compactor's original data plate will list its design voltage.
Higher horsepower = faster ram cycle time = higher throughput. 5HP is for small stationary compactors. 10HP is the standard for most full-size stationary. 15-20HP is for self-contained compactors and high-cycle industrial applications where throughput matters more than purchase price.
At 480V, peak draw is around 13A; at 230V, peak is around 28A; at 208V, peak is around 30A. Continuous duty current is roughly half those values. Size the electrical circuit for peak draw.
Yes. PRT three phase power units use OEM-spec mounting and electrical connections compatible with Marathon, PTR, Wastequip, Harmony, SP Industries, and most other industrial compactor brands.
