How do I know if my compactor's door seal is failing?
Two signs: water in the chamber after rain, and visible compression damage on the door seal. Replace at the first sign — water damage to the hydraulic oil costs more than the seal.
Are PRT compactor seals OEM-compatible?
Yes. PRT seals use OEM dimensions and material specs. They install in the same channel as the original seal.
Can I use silicone sealant instead of replacing the door seal?
Short-term yes, long-term no. Silicone bonds to the door but doesn't compress and rebound like a proper seal — it fails again as soon as the door is opened a few times. Use only as an emergency patch.
