Specialty and non-standard dumpster lids — universal cuttable HDPE, steel lids for industrial use, side-load configurations, and custom-fit options for legacy containers. When the standard S-series or D-series doesn't fit, this is where to look.
Not every dumpster fits a standard catalog lid. Older containers, custom-fabricated bins, specialty applications (vaults, sludge boxes, animal-control containers), and orphaned brands all need solutions that the mainstream lid line doesn't cover. PRT's specialty lid range fills that gap.
This page is the entry point to four sub-categories: Universal cuttable lids (one lid, cut to any size), Steel lids (for the most abusive environments), Side-load lids (specialty geometry), and accessories. Browse below or contact PRT customer service if you can't find what fits.
Start with the most-fitting sub-category: Universal if your container is older or non-standard, Steel if the environment destroys HDPE, Side Load if your container has a side-loading top geometry.
When in doubt, send a photo of the container with a tape-measure overlay. PRT identifies most non-standard lids on first look.
When the container's exact size isn't a standard catalog match — older Wastequip models, container-rebuilt-from-frame containers, or custom-fabricated bins. Universal lids ship as oversized blanks that you cut to size in the field.
PRT carries both standard steel lids and UL fire-rated options. Specify the rating when you order; standard steel lids are not certified for hazardous-waste applications.
A lid for containers that load through a top-side opening rather than via fork tubes on the front. Common on smaller specialty containers (animal control, vault waste, sludge boxes). The lid geometry is different — flatter, wider, with a different hinge orientation.
Yes. We fabricate custom HDPE and steel lids to any spec. Provide container dimensions, photos, and any special requirements (color, hinge geometry, UL rating). Typical lead time is 7–14 business days.
