Compactor Electrical Accessories & Hardware

Electrical accessories and supporting hardware for industrial trash compactor control panels — terminal blocks, DIN rail, wire, fuse blocks, control relays, timers, and the small components that hold a control panel together. Stocked for most major brands.

What this page covers

Electrical accessories are the unglamorous components that make every compactor work — terminal blocks that connect wiring to controls, DIN rail that mounts the components, fuse blocks that protect circuits, timer relays that delay cycle operations, control relays that switch logic signals. Each is cheap; each is critical when it fails.

PRT stocks the most commonly-replaced electrical accessories: terminal blocks (screw-clamp and spring-clamp), DIN rail in standard widths, control wire in standard gauges and colors, fuse blocks and CC/Class CC fuses, miniature control relays (8-pin, 11-pin), timer relays (on-delay, off-delay), and shrink tubing.

How to choose

Order by component category (terminal blocks, DIN rail, wire, fuses, relays, timers) and the specific function. Most accessories use industry-standard formats — PRT replacements drop in to existing panels.

For control panel rebuilds, consider standing-inventory kits — PRT can ship a control-accessories starter kit with the most-replaced items for compactor service.

Common accessory categories

  • Terminal blocksScrew-clamp and spring-clamp terminal blocks for control wiring.
  • DIN railStandard 35mm DIN rail in 1, 2, and 4-foot lengths.
  • Control wireMTW and TFFN wire in 14, 16, and 18 AWG; standard colors (red, black, white, green, blue, yellow, orange).
  • Fuse blocksClass CC and Class J fuse holders for control circuits.
  • Control relays8-pin and 11-pin miniature relays for control logic.
  • Timer relaysOn-delay, off-delay, and interval timer relays.
  • Push-on connectors and lugsFor motor leads and control connections.

Frequently asked questions

Do PRT terminal blocks fit Wago, Phoenix Contact, and Allen Bradley DIN rail?

Yes. Standard 35mm DIN rail is universal — terminal blocks from PRT mount on any compatible rail. Spring-clamp and screw-clamp formats are stocked.

What's the difference between MTW and TFFN control wire?

MTW (Machine Tool Wire) is the industrial control standard — flexible, 600V rated, oil and moisture resistant. TFFN is a thinner alternative for low-current control circuits. PRT stocks MTW for compactor service; TFFN on request.

Why do my compactor's control relays keep failing?

Common causes: contact arcing from inductive loads (use a snubber or RC network), overvoltage from a failed control transformer, or moisture/contamination ingress. Replace the relay and also fix the underlying cause — otherwise the new one fails too.

Are PRT timer relays compatible with Allen Bradley 700-FS series?

PRT timer relays use the standard 8-pin and 11-pin sockets common across brands. Time-delay settings are field-adjustable. Verify compatibility by socket pin layout, not brand name.
