Replacement PCBs (printed circuit boards) for industrial trash compactors — OEM-compatible control boards for Marathon, PTR, Wastequip, Harmony, and SP Industries. Direct drop-in replacements for original boards; PLC retrofit options if the original is discontinued.
PCBs are the original control electronics on most pre-2000 industrial compactors and many newer ones. They run the cycle logic on hardwired relays and timers, with PCB-mounted indicator LEDs and trim potentiometers for cycle adjustment. When a PCB fails — usually from capacitor aging, relay contact wear, or moisture damage — the compactor stops working.
PRT stocks original-equipment PCB replacements for the most common compactor brands. For PCBs that are no longer manufactured, we can recommend equivalent boards from other compactor brands (mounting and wiring permitting) or quote a PLC retrofit that replaces the PCB with modern controls.
Provide the compactor make, model, and the original PCB part number (printed on the board's silkscreen). PRT will confirm a direct replacement is in stock or quote an equivalent.
If your compactor's original PCB is discontinued and no equivalent is available, PRT can quote a PLC retrofit. PLC retrofits cost more upfront but extend compactor life by 10+ years and add diagnostic features the original PCB didn't have.
Three common symptoms: cycle doesn't start despite operator input; cycle starts but doesn't complete normally; intermittent control behavior (works sometimes, fails sometimes). Use a multimeter to verify input voltages at the PCB; if voltages are normal but the board isn't responding, it's a PCB failure.
Sometimes — bad capacitors and corroded relays can be replaced individually. But most operators replace the whole board because PCB repair requires equipment (oscilloscope, hot-air rework station) and skills (component-level troubleshooting) that most maintenance shops don't have.
Most are original-equipment boards sourced from the same manufacturers that supplied the compactor OEM. A small number are PRT-fabricated equivalents for boards that are no longer manufactured — those are tested to match the original specs exactly.
PRT can quote a PLC retrofit. The retrofit replaces the PCB with a modern PLC and re-runs the original cycle logic in PLC code. Typical retrofit cost is 1.5-2x a PCB replacement but extends compactor life by 10+ years.
