Universal cuttable lids ship as oversized HDPE blanks with reinforced underside ribs. You measure the container's rim dimensions, score and cut the lid with a standard utility knife or jigsaw, and mount it with whatever hinge configuration the container uses.

This is the right product for older Wastequip containers, refurbished/rebuilt containers, orphaned brands no longer in production, and custom-fabricated bins. It's also useful as a 'standing stock' item — keep a few blanks in your shop and you can replace nearly any lid without waiting for a sized order.

How to choose

Order based on the maximum container size you'd need to cover. The blank can always be cut smaller; it can't be made bigger. Most operators stock a few different blank sizes covering 1–4 yard and 4–8 yard ranges.

Universal lids are not the most cost-efficient choice for a specific container — a sized S-series or D-series is cheaper per unit. Universal makes sense when you need flexibility or when no standard size fits.
