Roll-Off Container Rollers & Wheels

Replacement rollers and wheels for roll-off containers — the heavy-duty steel wheels that ride on the truck's rails during loading and unloading. Fits 10-, 20-, 30-, and 40-yard containers from Wastequip, JV Cram-a-lot, and more..

What this page covers

The rollers on a roll-off container take direct load from the cable as the container is dragged onto the truck. They cycle thousands of times per year, run loaded and unloaded, and operate in every weather condition. Roller wear is gradual — slight at first, dramatic after about 5,000-7,000 cycles — and eventually the roller can't carry the load smoothly anymore.

PRT stocks heavy-duty steel rollers for the major roll-off container brands. Most ship same day.

How to choose

Identify by container brand and size (10/20/30/40 yard), roller dimensions (diameter and width), and mounting style (axle pin with grease fittings, or sealed bearing).

Replace rollers as a complete set rather than individually. Uneven roller wear causes container misalignment that damages the new rollers within months.

Roller options

  • Standard steel rollersHeavy-gauge steel for standard commercial roll-off service.
  • Heavy-duty rollersReinforced construction for high-cycle and abusive routes.
  • Sealed-bearing rollersMaintenance-free option for high-cycle applications.
  • Greaseable rollersStandard configuration with grease fittings.
  • Replacement axle pins and bushingsWear items for existing rollers.

Frequently asked questions

How long do roll-off container rollers last?

5,000-10,000 cycles in standard service. High-cycle commercial routes can wear rollers in 3-5 years; lower-cycle routes last 10+ years.

Should I replace rollers individually or as a complete set?

Complete set. Uneven wear causes container misalignment that damages new rollers within months. Replace all rollers at the same service interval.

Are PRT roll-off rollers compatible with Wastequip and JV Cram-a-lot containers?

Yes. PRT rollers use OEM-equivalent dimensions and mounting. Direct drop-in for most major brands.

Greaseable or sealed-bearing rollers — which is better?

Sealed for high-cycle applications where maintenance is hard to schedule. Greaseable for standard service — less expensive upfront, and the grease maintenance is straightforward.
